Applying to Universities

Mentorship with Vision

A message for students and parents from

Dr. Nikolas Gkonis

For Students

Let’s shape a journey that’s uniquely yours — one that prepares you not just for university, but for life.

“As you set out for Ithaki, hope your road is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery…”
C.P. Cavafi, 1911

Welcome. I'm Dr. Nikolas Gkonis, and before we talk about university applications, grades, or exam scores, I want you to know one thing:

This journey is about you.

Not just the student you are now, but the person you are becoming. I’ve walked the path of science, earning a Ph.D. in Medicine and Molecular Biology, exploring gene therapy, stem cells, and biomedical innovation. But the part of the journey that matters most to me now? Helping you walk your own.

Whether you're aiming for the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, or anywhere else, I’m here to help you steer a course through uncertainty, think more deeply, and stand out — not by pretending to be someone else, but by first discovering and then fully owning who you are.

I’ve had the privilege of guiding students whose journeys were as unique as their goals: artists with visionary portfolios, researchers with published work, community leaders with extraordinary impact, and scholars of remarkable academic depth. Together, we’ve achieved admissions to world-class universities — often with merit-based scholarships, full financial aid, or even full rides — not by chasing checklists, but by unfolding what makes each student truly distinct.

This isn’t just about getting into university.

It’s about becoming someone who belongs there; someone who leads, inspires, and leaves their mark.

Let’s get started.

For Parents

Because you want more than results. You want trust, care, and a clear plan for your child.

Dear Parent,

In today’s increasingly competitive academic landscape, it’s not enough for students to simply be talented — they need vision, strategy, and authentic support. That’s where I come in.

I’m Dr. Nikolas Gkonis, and I’ve had the privilege of helping students gain admission to world-class universities across the USA, UK, Canada, Europe, and Asia — often with merit scholarships, full financial aid, and fully funded placements. These achievements come not from standard formulas, but from a deeply individualized approach rooted in strategic mentorship and character development.

Whether your child excels academically, artistically, through community service, or in a rich combination of all three, I work with them to develop their unique strengths into a compelling and competitive academic narrative. My goal is to help them not only succeed in applications but to grow through the process, gaining skills and self-understanding that serve them for life.

As a parent, you’re not just looking for a counselor — you’re seeking a mentor you can trust. Someone who understands global university systems, who brings both rigor and care, and who treats each student not as a case, but as a future leader.

That’s the spirit I bring to every session — a philosophy grounded in the timeless words of Ezra Cornell:

“An institution where any person can find instruction in any subject.”

I look forward to helping your child build not just an application, but a future that feels both earned and inspired.

Warm regards,
Dr. Nikolas Gkonis
